Faunaverse Cross Stitch Patterns

Faunaverse is an award winning collection of Australian wildlife poetry books by zoologist Alexander Dudley and his wife Jane. For more than 30 years Alex has been photographing the incredible wildlife of Australia, and now (together with Jane) is dedicated to environmental education and awareness.

Faunaverse Books and Poetry

Each Faunaverse book is co-written by Alex and Jane, and is the perfect blend of their unique talents and life experiences. Alex, a working field zoologist has spent the last 30 years writing poems and photographing the amazing animals he sees out in the field, while Jane spends countless hours researching and fact checking each species — as well as writing poems and songs for the next publication.

Alex Dudley educates children and teachers around Australia about native wildlife and how we can all become backyard zoologists. His goal? Greater awareness of conservation issues for everyday Australians.

When Alex is away carrying out wildlife surveys for Australian government agencies, Jane looks after book sales and marketing — at the same time writing new material and transforming the poems into songs and multimedia art.

Environmental Education

But Alex and Jane don’t just write wildlife poems, they have also dedicated their lives to environmental education and wildlife protection. Every month you’ll find them in libraries, wildlife centres, and schools all around Australia educating children and teachers about Australia’s most vulnerable species and simple things (that even kids can do) to keep animals safe from harm.

Conservation Awards

Faunaverse books have become popular with teachers and educators as they present astonishing facts about each of the animals in a way that’s fun and accessible to young readers. Not only that, they have also been awarded:

– Faunaverse Tasmania. 2019 Whitley Book Award in the category of ‘Young Naturalist’ from the Royal Zoological Society of NSW.
