American Gothic Cross Stitch Pattern

$10.08 USD

How about cross stitching yourself a piece of American folklore and popular culture? It’s a replica of the incredibly famous painting by Grant Wood.

Description

American Gothic cross stitch pattern is our tribute to the 1930 Grant Wood painting. This fantastic artwork is owned by the Art Institute of Chicago and is one of the most recognisable symbols of  rural America.

The Project

This project is a large full coverage cross stitch and measures 54.1cm x 65.7cm when stitched on 14 count Aida cloth (298 x 362 stitches). We’ve taken great care to create a beautiful piece that closely resembles the original artwork, especially the couple’s eerie facial expressions, sharp pitchfork points, and floral print apron.

More Grant Wood?

Grant Wood was an American artist who lived from 1891 to 1942 and most famous for his signature piece: American Gothic. We are having fun charting the artworks of this incredible artist into beautiful cross stitch projects, keep calling back as we add more replicas of his art into the store.
