Description
Chernomor and the Heroes cross stitch pattern captures a magical scene from the famous Russian Folktale — The Tsar of Saltan. The original design was painted by Boris Zvorykin in classic Art Nouveau style.
We just love the turquoise and teal green tones, and the commanding presence of Chernomor leading the 33 protective heroes up out of the sea.
The Scene
In this fairy tale scene the Uncle and brothers of the cursed Swan Princess emerge from the sea and promise to protect Prince Gvidon and the entire island of Buyan from his stepmother.
The project symbolises family loyalty, courage and valor and we think you’ll love stitching the parting waves and intricacies of the sea-soldier’s robes and weaponry.
The Project
If you love large, full coverage cross stitch this is definitely the project for you. Measuring 45cmx65cm (on 14 count Aida cloth) this giant needs 88,9s0 stitches. Wow. But don’t worry your chart will work perfectly in Pattern Keeper App.
