Courtship Vintage Cross Stitch Pattern

Genuine 17th Century Pattern

Cross stitch a spring courtship scene for your favourite couple or wallspace.

Our pattern uses just black thread and one accent colour, though you could easily add some colours to the flower tips and lover’s costumes.

If you love antiques and vintage cross stitch we’ve transcribed a gorgeous spring courtship scene from the early 17th century archives. Courtship Vintage cross stitch was originally published in a 1604 pattern book.

We think you’ll love the incredible detail in the lady’s dress and her beau’s fashionable man-cape, sword and musketeer bloomers. Delicious! Stitch it up for your favourite Valentine’s Day couple or hang anywhere in the house you want to attract more romance.

The Project

Courtship vintage cross stitch measures 25cm x 18.1cm when stitched on 14 count Aida cloth. You’ll be completing 7,082 stitches in black, plus an accent colour. Just like the original pattern, we’ve used backstitches and half-stitches to define the flowers and the young man’s cape, bloomers, and sword.

PATTERN KEEPER NOTICE: your download pack contains an extra chart that has been formatted for Pattern Keeper App. Please remember that PK does not yet support half-stitches and backstitching.
