Art Nouveau Chic

Looking for an easy cross stitch?? How about these Art Nouveau flamingos, recreated for 14 count Aida cloth?

We love how the artist how chosen to silhouette the flamingos in plain black on green, ignoring their bright fuschia feathers. A very chic choice.

Description

Five Flamingos cross stitch pattern was inspired by an 1892 vingette by Dutch artist Gerrit Willem Dijsselhof.

It’s a super easy cross stitch (only 2,698 stitches) and creates a fantastic art piece to display in your home or office. We’ve replicated the original green background in our mockups, but you could use any painted Aida that matches your decor.

The Artist

Gerrit Willem Dijsselhof was a Dutch illustrator, painter and designer who lived between 1866 and 1924. We have transcribed a number of his minimalist woodcuts and floral sprays into counted cross stitch patterns — look for them here in the store.
