Grasshopper Icon Vintage Cross Stitch Pattern

$1.63 USD

Authentic 16th Century Motif

Looking for medallions and motifs featuring grasshoppers and crickets?

This little boxed icon was published in Europe in the late 1500s and would make a cute greeting card or mini-hoop decoration.

Description

Grasshoppers and crickets have long been a symbol of abundance and luck, they were often included in needlework and cross stitch samplers.

Our grasshopper icon cross stitch was found in an old book of cross stitch patterns, originally published in Europe around 1596. Rather than let these fabulous hand-drawn patterns disappear we have replicated some of them for you to stitch.

16th Century Animal Series

Check out the other designs from the same pattern book. There all similar shapes and sizes — perfect for greeting cards, mini-hoop decorations, or full samplers.
