Description
Our Little Blackbird cross stitch pattern was inspired by a vintage medallion featuring a blackbird. Traditionally stitched in a single colour on Quaker samplers during the 18th and 19th Centuries, we’ve freshened up the design with some contemporary colours.
We stitched up this little medallion one Sunday afternoon so it’s a great weekend project to do with the kids. Check the gallery for greeting card and tote bag ideas.
The Project
Your cross stitch chart includes the original one-colour design as well as six alternate colour schemes. We’ve also included mirror images of each medallion.
We think you’ll love the contemporary pinks and reds which transform the flowers into rose buds and strawberries.
The finished project measures 8.7cm x 8.7cm (stitched on 14 count Aida cloth) and is sized perfectly for greeting cards, mini wall hangings, decorations for bags, cushions, and other home decor.
