Mariana Cross Stitch Pattern

$12.20 USD

Cross stitch the beautiful Mariana, taking a break from her embroidery before intricate stained glass and the falling leaves of autumn.

Description

Our Mariana cross stitch pattern is a replica of a literary by British painter John Everett Millais. The 1851 painting was inspired by the Shakespearean comedy Measure for Measure.

We simply adore the textures of Mariana’s dark velvet gown, belt, and embroidery work, so we made the chart very large to capture all that fine detail. We’ve even managed the scattered autumn leaves and cheeky mouse at the bottom right.

The Project

You’ll need 136 DMC colours to complete this supersize chart, but you’ll be rewarded with a simply stunning piece of art for your favourite wall. A true talking piece for your family and friends.

The Artist

John Everett Millais was an exceptionally gifted English painter who lived from 1829 – 1896. Millais began studying with the Royal Academy at age 11 and is famous for his gorgeous paintings of literary characters, religion and mythology. Keep calling back to the store as we transform more of the artworks of Millais into counted cross stitch projects.
