Description
Old Mrs Rabbit cross stitch pattern is a replica of 1910 Beatrix Potter’s drawing for her bestselling book ‘The Tale of Peter Rabbit’.
The backbone of the story, old Mrs Rabbit is a hardworking single mom raising 4 youngsters (including the super-naughty Peter) all by herself. She’s definitely worth a few stitches.
‘NOW, my dears,’ said old Mrs. Rabbit one morning, ‘you may go into the fields or down the lane, but don’t go into Mr. McGregor’s garden: your Father had an accident there; he was put in a pie by Mrs. McGregor.’
THEN old Mrs. Rabbit took a basket and her umbrella, and went through the wood to the baker’s. She bought a loaf of brown bread and five currant buns.
The Project
This is NOT full coverage cross stitch so you’ll only be stitching old Mrs Rabbit in her best dress and umbrella walking through the wood.
The finished piece measures 23.4 x 29.2cm when stitched on 14 count Aida cloth, but you’ll only be completing 18,168 stitches. The pattern works perfectly with Pattern Keeper App and there are NO backstitches.
Peter Rabbit Series
Radishes and French Beans cross stitch is the last chart in a set of four. You’ll find more of Peter’s playful adventures as well as Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail in our Peter Rabbit Series. The finished pieces are great for painted wood frames and canvas tote bags.
