Description
This chart was inspired by a Faunaverse photograph of a Palm Cockatoo — taken in the wild tropical forests of Cape York, Australia.
Palm Cockatoos are native to New Guinea and the northern tip of Australia, sadly their numbers are in steep decline due to land clearing for mine sites, low reproductive rates, and native hunting practices in New Guinea.
Your purchase of this chart helps birds and animals all over Australia as the Faunaverse team continue their important field research and wildlife survey work — as well as running wildlife awareness programs in schools and community libraries.
The Project
Our awesome cross stitch recreates the bold plumage and dark colouring of a wild Palm Cockatoo. Using 16 different colours, you’ll capture the full texture and colour of the Palm Cockatoo’s incredible plumage.
We’ve removed the background for you, and suggest using natural or unbleached Aida cloth.
Palm Cockatoo Cross Stitch measures 45.2 x 67.9cm when stitched on 14 count Aida cloth and you’ll be completing 39,131 stitches.
PLEASE NOTE: your download pack contains an extra chart that has been specially formatted for Pattern Keeper App. We recommend using PK to manage your cross stitch projects.
