Our Purissima cross stitch pattern was inspired by a gorgeous 1920s painting by American-Italian artist Joseph Stella. It’s a surreal representation of the Holy Madonna surrounded by stately white birds, an erupting volcano, and exotic flowers.
This project is a very large, measuring 63.5cm x 83.8cm on 14 count Aida cloth. You’ll adore the fine detail in this project BUT it has a great deal of thread changes and confetti. If you’re up for the we think you’ll love stitching her exquisite gown and heavenly glow in the DMC pastel range.
PLEASE NOTE: Purissima cross stitch pattern is fully compatible with Pattern Keeper, and we highly recommend using the app to manage your project.
Joseph Stella was an American painter (born in Italy) who lived from 1877 to 1946. He was famous for his paintings of industrial America, but we have adapted some of his lesser known animal and religious paintings into cross stitch patterns. We just love their smooth lines and friendly colours. Browse the store for more Joseph Stella cross stitch.
