Cross Stitch Confidence

How about cross stitching this little starling? Starling energy generates the confidence you need to use your voice and speak your mind.

Our little boxed icon was first published in Europe in the late 1500s and would make a cute greeting card or part of a bunting display.

Description

The shiny-plumed starling is one of the world’s most recognisable birds and their presence has long been a symbol of easy communication and vocal expression. Our starling icon vintage cross stitch is a tribute to their spiritual presence and energy.

The spotted starling design (eating tree fruits) in this little boxed icon was found in a 16th Century book of cross stitch patterns, produced in Europe by an unknown author. We have replicated it here for you to stitch and think it looks amazing on black Aida cloth.

16th Century Animal Series

Check out the other designs from the same pattern book. There all similar shapes and sizes — perfect for greeting cards, mini-hoop decorations, or full samplers.
