Cross Stitch Blue Satin

Looking for a nice big project that uses all your favourite colours? How about stitching this French society girl in her finery?

Just look at the texture in her eyes, auburn hair, and glowing complexion.

Description

The Letter cross stitch pattern is a stunning replica of an 1879 oil painting by Auguste Toulmouche. In the scene a young woman blissfully muses a letter she has just read, surrounded in all the luxuries of a French society girl.

What we love the most about this cross stitch is the bright blue colouring in the young woman’s high-fashion gown. The colours in the painting translate perfectly to the DMC electric blue, wedgewood, and peacock shades.

Apart from the bustled gown there are loads more fun elements in the project including the textured drapes, red velvet table cover, pot of fresh flowers, lace throw, and ornate wood panelling, .

The Project

This cross stitch is a very large full coverage project that measures 54.4 x 96.5cm (300 x 532 stitches) when stitched on 14 count Aida cloth. Despite being such a large piece, there is not a lot of confetti and many sections contain single colour blocks.
