Description
Turquoise Marilyn Mini cross stitch pattern is a fun project in bright funky colours. The design is based on a 1967 screen print by American artist Andy Warhol.
Throughout the 1960s, Warhol began experimenting with celebrity photographs, screen printing unusual colour combinations over the original glamour shots. The Marilyn series produced some of the most recognisable symbols in contemporary pop culture.
The Project
We designed this miniature cross stitch as a quick project you could easily finish in a day or tow. It measures just 9.3cm x 9.3cm (2,609 stitches) when stitched on 14 count Aida, and requires 59 different DMC colours.
This is a full coverage project that has a lot of colour changes, so we recommend using Pattern Keeper to manage your work. Look for the extra PK chart in your download pack.
Matching Patterns
If you love bright colours and pop art, why not stitch the whole set? We are publishing a series of eight Marilyn Minis and they are all 51×51 stitches (9.1cm x 9.1cm on 14 count Aida). Here’s a few from the set.
More Marilyn
We have loads more Marilyn Monroe cross stitch patterns in the celebrity section of our cross stitch store. Grab a coffee (or a long-stemmed glass of champagne) and take a look.
