White Ox in Cross Stitch

Cross stitch a beautiful symbol of diligence and sincerity — the transcendent white ox.

We think you’ll love our smooth colour palette and the varying tones of DMC cornflower, blue violet, cocoa, and driftwood.

Description

White Ox cross stitch pattern was inspired by 1929 painting The Ox by Italian-American artist Joseph Stella.

We adore this stately white bull, framed by a gorgeous blue sky, fertile valley and mountains.

In many cultures the white ox is a symbol of perseverance, strength and sincerity — beautiful energy to bring to your craft and favourite wall space.

The Artist

Joseph Stella was an American painter (born in Italy) who lived from 1877 to 1946.  He was famous for his paintings of industrial America, but we have adapted some of his lesser known animal and religious paintings into cross stitch patterns. We just love their smooth lines and friendly colours. Browse the store for more Joseph Stella cross stitch.
